Overview

The Credit Analyst will be responsible for risk analysis and mitigation, credit approval, dispute resolution, management and collection of accounts receivable for lower-tier Leasing customer accounts while operating within assigned thresholds. The role operates with routine supervisory oversight by the Corporate Credit Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers, being responsive and proactive to address customer concerns and resolve issues.
  • Analyze customer credit history to set appropriate credit limits within established thresholds. Review and make credit recommendations based on review of customer financial statements, credit bureau reports and payment history.
  • Responsible for management and collection of all lower-tier accounts receivable within established metrics, on a portfolio of accounts, as assigned. Report of key performance metrics and trends. Perform annual reviews and report on key metrics for customers within the assigned portfolio.
  • Act as liaison between TEC Business Partners and external customers to aid dispute resolution, leading to payment.
  • Work with Credit Manager regarding account escalations and make recommendations regarding bad debt reserves, third party collections and legal actions, as appropriate.
  • Provide account support and assistance for upper-tier accounts, as needed.
  • Research and respond to requests and questions from the accounting department.
  • Assist with month-end close processes and reporting, bad debt reporting and miscellaneous projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required. Degree or college work in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years business-to-business credit and/or collections experience preferred.
  • Experience in customer-facing position preferred.
  • Experience in the dealership and/or trucking industry preferred.
  • Experience in evaluating financial statements and credit bureau reports.
  • Working knowledge of accounts receivable, credit and collections, and sales tax regulations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively handle difficult customers, and approach customer service with a sense of urgency and care.
  • Proficient skills with computer programs (e.g. MS Office Suite – Intermediate to advance proficiency with Word and Excel)
  • Strong Attention to detail and ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment.
    Ability to prioritize and identify critical tasks in order to reach objectives.
